Friend's Weekend - 13th to 15th February 2015
Embercombe Working Weekends are open to all, whether you are single, a couple, in a group or a family. You come and join us here at Embercombe and stay in the yurts or in the Gallery, a large shared space, or alternatively you can bring a tent. You will be involved in activities that have personal meaning and benefits both to you, our community and the charity.
Everyone works along side by side to share skills, knowledge and stories.
The weekend starts at around 6.30pm on the Friday and finishes at around 5pm on the Sunday. On Saturday morning at 9am everyone meets and introductions are made and the activities and tasks for the weekend are arranged.

We are situated west of Exeter just 3 miles from the A38, take the Exeter Racecourse turning and head towards Dunchideock, after about a mile and a half take a sharp left hand turning towards Ashton and Trusham, opposite a forestry car park, follow this road for another mile and a half and we are on the right hand side.
Alternatively we do a pick up from Exeter St Davids Train Station on the Friday at 6.30pm and will drop you back at the station leaving Embercombe between 4 and 5pm on Sunday afternoon. Only 16 places available - payable on booking (£2 each way per person)
We may film or take photos during your visit to Embercombe, these may be used to promote Embercombe, either in our printed publicity or on our website.
No material will be distributed to any third parties. Please let us know if your are not willing to be part of this.
You are invited to join Mac's walking tour on Sunday afternoon at 2pm. This is often a highlight of the friends working weekends and a great chance to reflect and round off your visit to Embercombe.

Note re use of smartphones, tablets and laptops at Embercombe
Children attending Friends Weekends have asked if a clear policy can be established to limit the use of digital screens during Friends Weekends.  The children said that it was hard to avoid being drawn into screen viewing when someone is doing it around them, and one of the things they really value about Embercombe is the time they spend away from screens.
Therefore we ask everyone attending Friends Weekend to avoid recreational use of digital media.  We understand that texts and other messages need to be received and sent but we invite you to limit your use of screens to this function alone.
